Throughout the history of the United States, how guns are controlled has been a main topic of discussion in politics. Due to a rise in homicides committed with guns, many politicians believe the problem is the gun. With the recent addition of assault weapons, guns that are automatic, gun control may seem logical. However, through statistics and research, one can say the problem is the person behind the gun. Gun control also makes people venerable in society by taking away their first line of defense. Also, rising gun prices makes owning guns a form of elitism, which creates social classes. Additionally, the right to bare arms has been proven an individual right in multiple court cases. Through these four topics of discussion, one can argue that gun control is bad for the United States of America.
